Oil companies were losing Rs 5.82 a litre on petrol (Rs 6.94 a litre after including sales tax component) and Rs 3.62 a litre on diesel (Rs 4.11 per litre after including sales tax) in Delhi but the hike announced is lower than the desired increase, Mr. Pandey said.
